Plastic microfibers from synthetic textiles (including microfiber) are the single greatest contributor to ocean microplastic pollution.
Recycling plastics into textiles. Sourcing climate-friendly plant fibers like hemp and TENCEL™ Lyocell.
On current trend, the amount of plastic microfibers entering the ocean between 2015 and 2050, could accumulate to more than 22 million tons. Plastic microfibers contain carcinogenic and endocrine disrupting chemicals known to harm living organisms across the food chain.
Microplastic fibers also harbor and spread bacteria and viruses through ecosystems affecting even the most pristine corners of the planet.
Made of climate-friendly hemp and TENCEL Lyocell, the Travera is both hyper-absorbent and incredibly fast drying.
While the occasional stitching imperfection may be present, it does not affect their functionality or durability.
Embrace the beauty of imperfection and enjoy the comfort, practicality and extra discount our nearly perfect towels provide.

Hemp and TENCEL Lyocell are highly complementary of each other and ideal for eco-conscious adventurers. TENCEL Lyocell offers instant softness while hemp wears in beautifully. Both are more durable and more absorbent than cotton and microfiber. What's more, they're very fast drying and naturally antimicrobial.
Lava towels are tightly woven with long, smooth, naturally anti-static fibers so the sand, dirt and leaves remain in the outdoors instead of on your towel, on you, in your pack or in your home.
Hemp and TENCELTM are very easy to care for. Simply machine wash your Lava towels in cold water, no hotter than 60 degrees F. Tumble dry on low heat or hang them to dry. To achieve maximum absorbency, avoid fabric softeners and dryer sheets.
