Join the zero-carbon ocean shipping initiative
Some large companies have pledged to partner with the shipping industry to develop zero-carbon maritime shipping. We look forward to the moment when the system is in place so we may also participate.
Manufacture with renewable energy
Some of our partners partially rely on renewable energy for their manufacturing. We will continue to prioritize new and current manufacturing partnerships based on whether they use renewable energy.
Recycle 100% of textile scraps
We design our products to use the entire width of the material so there is no wasted, usable material. However, there are parts that we’re unable to use including the selvage and small sections where we find flaws in the weave.
We’re currently seeking a textile recycling partner. Because our textiles are so pure (100% flax and 50% flax/50% hemp blends) they are easier to recycle than most textiles.
Use linen thread
Linen thread is currently unavailable in the form we require for our products. However, when designed appropriately, it would be an excellent option to further lessen our footprint and to add even more durability to our products.
We are currently seeking a manufacturing partner to create linen thread that meets our performance requirements.
Offer reusable mailers
We’re proud to currently use post-consumer recycled, recyclable, compostable and 1 x time reusable mailers.
We look forward to adding another option for customers in late 2022 – a reusable mailer capable of remaining in circulation for years. They are repurposed from post-consumer waste that otherwise would end up in a landfill.
