Sibling fibers

Flax and hemp fibers are very much alike. So alike, in fact that it’s difficult to tell them apart without a microscope. Both are bast fibers harvested from within the woody stalks of their respective plants. With superb properties including their unmatched durability, high-absorbency, quick drying, thermoregulating, and stain and debris resistance they are ideal textiles for travel towels. 

While both hemp and flax linen textiles have been woven and worn since at least 8000 BC, both are making a well-deserved comeback. This is due to the highly desirable qualities the finished textiles have to offer as well as the positive environmental aspects of the plants. When grown responsibly, neither requires pesticides nor artificial irrigation, they grow very quickly, and they rehabilitate the soil. 

They are the fibers of the future.
