The Lava Linens Way
Our Commitment to Sustainability
Flax to Linen
From growing to processing to weaving, flax demonstrates the lowest level of environmental impact of all grown materials for fabrics. The growers, scutchers, spinners, weavers, knitters, finishers and traders that make up the 10,000 European Linen companies, adore and believe in this fiber that retains CO2, diversifies the ecosystem and preserves the land and water.
We scoured the globe for the perfect supplier who felt as strongly as we did about creating a superior product while also meeting strict quality and green standards. Our linen is sourced from a longstanding company in France recognized for its craftsmanship and industrial excellence.

Our Organic Hemp & Twine
We found a fantastic source for our organic, unbleached and undyed hemp webbing for our towel hanging loops and twine for our tags. Both are handcrafted in sweatshop free, off-grid workshops in the U.S., Canada and Europe.
Our Shipping & Print Materials
We package our towels in lightweight recycled materials that are designed to be re-used, recycled and composted.
Our tags and other printed materials are printed on recycled paper with eco friendly ink. They are recyclable.
Our Lifetime Repairs
The fewer items we dispose of and replace, the less waste we produce. Our towels are designed to remain in excellent condition for a long time. Linen and hemp are both very durable materials and we reinforce the seams of the towels to be most certain our craft-woman-ship is up to the challenge. Some adventures can be more rugged than others, and we know you need products that last. Therefore, we are happy to offer towel repairs.
